Daytona Beach, FL - Marie Olinger Kesselring, 90, of Daytona Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024. Born on April 3, 1934, in Kittanning, PA, to Ross and Leona (Toy) Olinger, Marie's journey through life was marked by her passion for education and her unwavering kindness.
A proud graduate of Kittanning High School, Marie furthered her education at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Nova University. She began her teaching career at Pleasant View School in Ford City, PA, before marrying Roy J. Kesselring and relocating to Florida in 1959. Over the next 32 years, she inspired countless students at schools including Rock Lake Elementary in Orlando, North Ridgewood Elementary and Lenox Elementary in Daytona Beach, and Pine Trail Elementary in Ormond Beach.
Marie's warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Described as one of the kindest souls, she had an extraordinary ability to make others feel cherished and welcomed in her home. Her infectious spirit and genuine interest in people created lifelong friendships and a sense of community wherever she went.
Marie was predeceased by her parents, Ross and Leona Olinger; her sister, Lois J. Olinger; and her beloved husband, Roy J. Kesselring. She is survived by her stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in Michigan, as well as numerous cousins across the United States.
A Celebration of Marie's life will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with Visitation and Gathering starting at 1:30 PM, at Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church, 3140 S Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32118.
Marie is dearly loved, and her memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
