Pittsfield - Marie (Leahey) Connolly, age 100, became an angel and returned home March 11, 2022 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lee on October 6, 1921 to the late Katherine (Deeley) Leahey and John T. Leahey. Mom attended St Mary's School and graduated from Lee High and the Fannie Farmer School of Cooking. She went on to work at GE, where she met her future husband.
She was a 70 year communicant of Sacred Heart Church where she was a member of Confraternity and Rosary Sodality early on. She loved playing cards (she was quite the shark), doing word searches, watching Wheel of Fortune, and of course, George Clooney. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family- her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and many cousins.
She was a loving wife and mother, was kind to all, smart, funny, very Irish and took care of so many in her family. Mrs. Connolly was predeceased by the love of her life/partner in crime, Thomas M. Connolly, her parents, four siblings and all of her close-in-age friends whom she adored.
She leaves her beloved children, John Connolly (Deborah), Thomas Connolly Jr. (Gwen) and her daughter Kathryn "Kit" Connolly Turner (William J.) Mom was a Gram to three adored grandchildren, Jacqueline Connolly Paton, Sean Connolly, and Christopher W. O. Connolly and GGMa to two great-grandchildren, Carson Connolly and Samantha Paton. She also leaves her sister-in-law Kathleen Connolly, many nieces and nephews, and two loving caregivers, Marylou and Phylene.
