When Marie A. "Mamie" Salm was born on March 23, 1915, in Kitchener, Ontario, her father, Johann Salm, was 29, and her mother, Paulina Schlumkowsky, was 29. She married Edgar Joseph Fisher (1908-1986) on November 8, 1940, in Waterloo, Ontario. They had two children during their marriage, Douglas Edward Fisher born in 1941, and James Roy Fisher born in 1945. She died on January 3, 1981, in her hometown at the age of 65, and was buried there in Woodland Cemetery.
