Marian Yacovazzi
Did you know Marian? Please share your stories and photos, and help spread the word about this page!
Our wonderful mother, Marian Yacovazzi, was born in Akron, Ohio on March 7, 1926 and went home to Heaven on October 22, 2021.
Marian was a woman perhaps born ahead of her time. In a different era, she could have become successful in business, taking chemistry and physics at Akron North High School, but instead chose to become a loving wife and mother. She was Valedictorian of her class, graduating six months early, a beautiful Polsky's elevator operator, spoke four languages, an excellent pianist, managed the school cafeteria at Richardson Elementary, and made the best homemade cream puffs. She also played a mean game of poker. Widowed for thirty years, she maintained an impeccable household and was active in many Italian clubs. She taught her children to be polite and hardworking, to maintain close family ties and always have a willingness to help others.
We will greatly miss her indomitable 95 year old spirit.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband Larry, of 47 years, parents, Rocco and Giovina
Giorgio, brother, Dominic Giorgio, cousin Anna Campanale and baby granddaughter Lauren
Yacovazzi. She is survived by her brother, Leonard Giorgio, son, Larry (Carolyn), daughter, Georgann Palonder (Patrick) and son, Mark. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
