Mrs. Marian Jean "GG" Nelson Doubet, age 96, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on August 28, 1924 in Galva, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle Anderson Nelson. She was raised in Galva and graduated in 1942 from Galva High School. She then attended the University of Illinois where she met her future husband. On August 10, 1944 she was united in marriage to Charles J. Doubet in Galva, Illinois. This happy union of 57 years was blessed with a daughter, Diana and a son, Stephen. Charles was inducted into the United States Army and after returning home the family settled on a farm in 1951 in Darlington, Indiana and this would be where she raised her family. Marian helped her husband with the family farm, was a caregiver, homemaker, wife and mother. She was a faithful member of the Darlington United Methodist Church and helped with the ladies missionary circle. Marian read her Bible daily and studied her devotions. She enjoyed playing golf, card games, board games, shopping, was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan, and loved to paint. She moved to Madison in 2016 to be near her daughter and son in law. Marian died on Friday, November 20, 2020, at 8:34 a.m. at the River Terrace Health Campus in Madison, Indiana. Marian will be missed by her loving daughter, Diana Bush and her husband, John of Madison, Indiana; her loving son, Stephen Doubet of Darlington, Indiana; her loving granddaughter, Jennifer Rhodes and her husband, Chan of Wamego, Kansas; her loving grandson, Matthew Bush of Louisville, Kentucky; her adoring great grandchildren, John Rhodes and Ella Rhodes; her brother, Harlan Nelson and his wife, Sally of Galesburg, Illinois; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Nelson, her mother, Myrtle Anderson Nelson, her husband of 57 years, Charles J. Doubet, died January 17, 2002. Graveside services will be held December 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Darlington-Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington, Indiana.
