Maria Estela Ward age 79 of San Antonio died peacefully at home surrounded by
family and friends on Sunday, February 27, 2022. She was born November 13,
1942 in Mission Texas to Edubijes and Guadalupe (Pena) Garza.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her son, Buel "Billy" Ward, III.
Estela is survived by her daughters, Dahlia Ward-Arriaga (Albert) and
Celina DeHoyos (Arthur); her sons, Ricardo Ramirez (David) and Rigoberto
Ramirez (Margarita); her daughter-in-law, Yolanda Ward; her grandchildren,
Atlantis Martinez (Gabriel), Michael Ward, Daniel Ward, Aaron Arriaga, Julissa
Arriaga, Brandon DeHoyos, Jacob DeHoyos, Vanessa Compean (Robert), Miranda
Ramirez (Joey), Daniela Ramirez and Caesar Ramirez; her great grandchildren,
Gabriel Storm Martinez, Jr., Devin Compean, Robert Compean, Jr., Alexander
Diaz and Zel Diaz; her sister, Socorro Reyna; numerous nieces, nephews and her
honorary grandchildren. Her family would like to show their appreciation to all
who cared for her in her last days especially, Debra Todd who devoted much time, care,
and abundant love around the clock for her.
SERVICES
Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. on
Friday, March 11, 2022 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry
Ridge Drive. Final viewing will begin on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 8:00 A.M.
before departing the Chapel at 8:30 A.M. for a procession to the Service at La
Trinidad United Methodist Church, 200 San Fernando Street at 9:00 A.M.
Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North. You may leave a message or memory on the Tribute Wall on her memorial at www.missionparks.com.
