Maria Rosalinda Martinez also known as "Rosie", age 60, of McAllen, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Rosie was born June 29, 1961 in Edinburg, Texas, to Jose Martinez and Nicolasa Vela.
Rosie was a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher for 26 years at Thigpen-Zavala Elementary School in McAllen, Texas. She was passionate about teaching and her students meant the world to her. She enjoyed baking when she was at home and was known for her delicious Pan De Polvo cookies. Rosie was a very social person, and enjoyed the company of her friends and family over gatherings and barbecues and was part of a club called the "Pink Ladies" Rosie will be missed by her family and the many that knew her for her kind heart and bubbly personality.
Rosie, is preceded in death by her parents; Jose and Nicolasa Martinez.
She is survived by her three siblings; Jose Martinez Jr. (Maria), Raul Martinez (Sylvia) and Ramon Martinez (Inez). She had 12 nieces and nephews who she loved as if they were her own.
A visitation for Maria Rosalinda "Rosie" Martinez, will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary starting at 7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel, in Pharr, Texas. A Chapel Service is for Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Remembrance, at Funeraria Del Angel, with a burial to follow at 11:00 AM at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr, TX.
