Maria Inez Asebedo

Funeral services for Maria (Inez) Asebedo, age 92 of Midland, Texas will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Seminole at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Sam Medina officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

The church will allow a limited number of attendees inside for the funeral service, and it is suggested that a mask be worn and social distancing practiced, in keeping with CDC guidelines.

Mrs. Asebedo was born October 4, 1928 in San Saba, Texas to Antonia (Soto) and Benito Cervantez. She married Raymond Asebedo in Richland Springs, Texas on September 21, 1948. She was a devoted Christian and a homemaker and the nursery director at her church for fifty years; she and her husband pastored ten churches for over forty years. She always looked her best and was known for her fashion, jewelry and signature lipstick. She enjoyed cooking and serving people. Her grandchildren were the stars in her crown and she never regarded her in-laws as anything but her family.

Maria Asebedo passed away at her home in Midland on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons, one daughter, two brothers, five sisters, one granddaughter; one grandson, and one great-granddaughter. She survived by her husband, Raymond Asebedo of Midland, Texas; two sons, Sam Asebedo and wife Sherry of Midland, Texas and Randy Asebedo and wife Delia of Lubbock, Texas; four daughters, Janie Saldana and husband Rey of Seminole, Texas, Nora Stewart and husband Craig of Midland, Texas, Rita Coronel and husband Jesus of Plains, Texas, and Martha Reynolds and husband Matt of Canyon Lake, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren.
