Maria was born 12-21-1938 in El Paso, TX to Santos and Maria Cumpian Esquivel. She married Jesus L. Soliz on September 13, 1959 in Friona, TX. Her passion in life was her family. She was a jovial personality with an infectious smile. She had a meager upbringing, but that never stopped her from giving to others. She was an amazing cook who shared her homemade meals in particular enchiladas and breakfast burritos with many people including friends of her children, the pharmacist, the nurses and physicians at her doctor's office, and so many others. She was a stranger to none. She welcomed those preaching the gospel into her home without prejudice. some of her favorite hobbies were scrapbooking, sewing, quilting, and painting.
She had a love for music and enjoyed it until her last days. She had an artistic nature and the creativity to make a photograph come to life. At the age of 45 she received her GED and went on to pursue her cosmetologist license. Alzheimer's disease may have taken her life, but it never took her beauty and love for family.
