Margueritte V. Smith- Jones, 81, of Port Charlotte, passed away October 6, 2023. She was born May 14, 1942, in Manhattan, New York to the late Thomas Doogan and Virginia Pierstorff- Doogan.
Margueritte spent her career giving to those around her as a Medical Assistant, working at St Luke's in New York. She was also an artist. She enjoyed painting in all mediums, and she loved to sing.
Survivors include her son, Robert Smith, daughters; Karen Smith-Yeakley, and Debra J. Smith-Ochs, brothers, Tommy Doogan, Mike Doogan and Pat Doogan. As well as grandchildren, Jennifer Slain, Kaila Green, Tyler Santos, Michaela Ochs, Dylan Ochs, Katherine Oliver and Samantha Rowland, and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Margueritte is preceded in death by her husbands, Mr. Robert "Smitty" Smith and Mr. Dick Jones, one daughter, Susan Rowland, and a sister, Jean Iannacone from New Hampshire
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home 9400 Indian Springs Cemetery Road in Punta Gorda, Fl with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm.
