Marguerite "Peggy" L. Pettingell, 81, died on April 12, 2024 at Riverwoods Durham Assisted Living. She was born on June 13, 1942 in Berlin, NH, the daughter of the late Adelard and Eva Delia (Letellier) Langevin.
A longtime resident of Berlin, Peggy grew up the youngest of 10 children and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1960. In 1985 she began working as a translator for Perini International Corporation where she met Warren H. Pettingell. They later married and after living in Southboro, MA, retired to East Kingston, NH. She had resided in Durham the last two years. Peggy loved flowers and working in her garden. She also enjoyed knitting and solving puzzles. She had a unique sense of humor that endeared her to everyone that knew her. "There will always be a chair for her at the fire with a glass of wine."
She is survived by her two sisters, Rita Gagnon of Berlin, NH, and Helen Ramsey of Upton, MA; her son Richard Marcou and his wife Lisa of Canterbury, NH; her daughter Lisa Dodge and husband Greg of Epping, NH; her grandchildren, Courtney Dodge, Kate Shabram, Richard "Owen" Marcou, Emma Marcou, Jessica Kinzlmaier and her husband Karl, Nicole Jess and her husband Evan, and Angela Miller and her husband Brian Fanning; and her great grandchildren Avery Wydola, Addison and Cooper Shabram, Charlotte and Chloe Strohl, and Lianna Jess.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 6-8 PM, and on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 8:30 - 9:45 AM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10 AM on Saturday April 20 at St. Joseph Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, NH. Following the Mass there will be a Mercy Meal for family and friends at the Church. Private Burial will be held in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Newburyport, MA at a later date.
