Margie Bertha Himmels, age 91, of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away November 24, 2018 in Hospice of Wichita Falls.
A vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst, Texas. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Moloney, O.F.S. Parochial Administrator of St. Mary's, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. Her great-nephews Trent, Trey, and Tryce Berend, Chandler King, Coby Schroeder, Adam, Ben, and Matthew Wolf will be serving as pallbearers.
Margie was born July 14, 1927 in Windthorst, Texas to Paul Henry Himmels and Theresa Barbara Goedtken Himmels.
In 1945, Margie graduated from Windthorst High School. She was employed at Levi Straus in Wichita Falls for thirty-eight years as a payroll clerk. After retirement, she volunteered at Hospice of Wichita Falls, Interfaith Ministries, and St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store.
Margie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wichita Falls where she was a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed sewing, piecing quilts and playing bingo. Margie was always very interested and supportive of all the activities of her many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include three sisters, Mabel Bowlden of Dallas, Texas, Annette Fleitman of Lindsay, Texas and Ann Veitenheimer of Windthorst, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cpl. Paul John Himmels who died in action during the Korean War and Johnny Francis Himmels who passed away at the age of six; five sisters, Helen Berend, Ida Mae Brenneis, Juanita Munchrath, Pauline Cassidy and Betty New.
