Margery Louise Thistlethwaite Burkhardt, age 67 of Lebanon, Indiana, formerly of Madison entered this life on April 2, 1953 in Lebanon, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Meveral "Earl" and Shirley Uhler Thistlethwaite. She was a 1971 graduate of Marion Adams High School. She married Steven Lee Burkhardt on December 15, 1973 at the Big Springs Church in Boone County, Indiana. She grew up in Lebanon, Indiana and moved to the Madison community in 1973. She became an x-ray technician at the King's Daughters' Hospital School of Radiology Technology in 1984. She worked at Jewish Hospital for eighteen years and then began working at King's Daughters' Hospital in 2013-2019 and finished her career at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. She was a member of North Madison Baptist Church and attended until her she moved to Lebanon in June 2019 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and yard work. She fought a courageous battle with breast cancer and Covid-19. Margery died on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 1:47 p.m. at the Witham Health Services in Lebanon, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Margery will be missed by her loving brothers, Meveral Cyrus "Cy" Thistlethwaite and his wife Kathy of Lebanon, Indiana, Michael Thistlethwaite and his wife Connie of Cicero, Indiana; her loving sister, Pat Maddox and her husband Tim of Lebanon, Indiana; her nephews, Chris Maddox, Bryan Maddox and his wife Amy, Anthony Thistlethwaite, and James Kinnaman; her niece, Helen Hohne and her husband Matt; her great nephews and great nieces, Steven Maddox-Batz and his wife, Halie, Abigail Maddox, Jason Maddox, Hayden Boone, Dakdota Jamison, Charles Kinnaman, Logan Maddox, and Hannah Maddox; her mother in law, Orena Hamilton Burkhardt of Madison, Indiana; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Meveral Earl Thistlethwaite, her mother, Shirley Uhler Thistlethwaite, and her beloved husband of 38 years, Steven Lee Burkhardt, died October 3, 2011.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., by Pastor Frank McGee at the North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard Street in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow later in the Springdale Cemetery,600 West Fifth Street in downtown Madison, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00p.m. at the North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard Street in Madison, Indiana.
