Margarita Tristan Olguin, 91, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in Mcallen, Texas. She was born on March 31, 1930 in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi to her parents Antonio Tristan and Julia Olguin.
Margarita was a loving Mother and the best Grandmother a grandkid could have. She was fun and her laughter was contagious to anybody around her. She loved gardening, planting, cooking and made the best gorditas de azucar
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Efren Tristan, Rito Tristan, Alberto Tristan, Valentin Tristan, and sisters, Margarita Tristan, Maria De Jesus Tristan, and was the last remaining sibling.
Margarita is survived by her 7 children, Lilia San Juana (Donato) Cerda of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Beatriz (Jose +) Cantu of Pharr, Texas , Alfonso (Mary Lou) Gonzalez of Delaware, Carlos (Socorro) Gonzalez of Cadereyta Nuevo Leon, Mario Alonso (Blanca) Gonzalez of Houston, Texas, Idalia Margarita (Juan Pablo) Vasquez of Houston, Texas. She had 28 Grandchildren, 52 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Margarita moved to Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon in 1951 and later became a permanent resident in 1987 and lived in Pharr, Texas. She was a devout Christian and a member of the McAllen North Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her favorite bible verse was Psalms 34:7, "The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and he delivers them".
Public Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm with the prayer service to start at 6:00pm at Del Angel Funeral Home Chapel, 3611 N. Taylor Road, Mission, Texas, 78573.
Funeral Service will take place at 12:00pm, Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Del Angel Funeral Home Chapel and interment to follow at same address.
