WILKIE, Margaret Of Newton, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2022, age 89. Predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Wilkie, also of Newton; and by a sister, Mary Ann Fisher of Natick. Margaret is survived by two sisters, Stella Ross of Rutland, and Sheila Rose of Ontario, Canada. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. Margaret was born in Birmingham, England and was educated at King Edward's School for Girls. She was a lifelong advocate for education for children, and an avid reader and lover of books. Margaret emigrated to America in the early 1960s. She worked at the MGH for many years, both as a surgical practice administrator and volunteer, receiving a number of awards for her service. Margaret was also very active in her parish and was a Minister in the Bereavement and Liturgical Ministries at Our Lady's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's name to Plan International USA or any charity that provides aid to children in need. Margaret was a loving friend and caregiver to many. She will be greatly missed. A Funeral Mass for her will be celebrated in Our Lady's Church, 573 Washington St., Newton on Wed., June 1 at 10:30am. Burial is private. Arr. by Magni FH, NEWTON.
