Margaret 'Peggy' Wichman, 59, passed away on February 1, after a courageous 12 year battle with cancer.
Peggy was born in Akron on September 20, 1962 to Joe & Margaret Colant and was a 1981 graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School. She obtained her Bachelor's of Accounting from the University of Akron. Peggy began her career in banking under her father-in-law, James H. Wichman at Ravenna Savings & Loan and last worked for First Federal of Lakewood. She was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Peggy loved to be active: playing soccer,walking, hiking, gardening and doing yard work. She adored the holidays and loved spending time with family and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father Joe and sister Patty. She is survived by her children Jen, Charlee, Zach, & Dylan Wichman; beloved mother Margaret; siblings Gerard (Francesca Shoup) Colant, Helen (Michael) Rothberg, Chris (Marcia) Colant, former husband, Mark, in-laws James and Charlene Wichman, & Betsy (Bruce) Cochran as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, 11:00 am, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Archbishop Hoban High School's Peggy Wichman Scholarship, and/ or The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park in her honor.
