Margaret Garner Reisler, of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Jacksonville, and Indianapolis, passed on peacefully, in the company of family, on 2/20/21 in Jacksonville, Fl at the age of 97.
Born in Toccoa, Ga, she was graduated from Brenau University where she was a member of Tri Delta. Mrs. Reisler taught Speech & Drama at the Country Day School (Maine), Marion College (Indiana), and Butler University (Indiana). She held a membership with the National Society of Arts & Letters.
Mrs. Reisler and her husband Phil owned & operated Camp Manitou for Boys in Ontario, Canada. She was active in several Methodist Church communities, served on the Bishop's Council, & as a member of the Annual Conference for 10 years. She was also a member of the Indiana Council of Churches and PEO International Chapter EM.
Her artistic involvement included being the Curator at the Hoosier Salon Gallery, a Member of the Actors Equity Assoc., Actors Guild, Indiana Federation of Art Clubs, Indianapolis Art League Foundation & the Brevard Museum of Arts & Science Guild.
Known to all as "Maggie", with a lifetime passion of the theatre, she is remembered for an engaging history as a stage actress, having entertained in a multitude of plays in community theaters, with "Readings", and could be coaxed into character - to the delight of all who knew her!
Maggie was predeceased by her husband Phillip Brown Reisler of Indiana. She is survived by Nephews Bob Garner (Linda), Jim Garner (Michele), Niece Maggi G. Oglesby (Mike); Great Nephews Matthew Garner (Hillary), their children Warren, India & Caroline; Seth Garner (Brittany); Steve & Scott Oglesby and great Nieces Meika G. Berlan (Brian), their children Bennett & Brooks; Jaime G. Wyatt (Neil).
She was loved by family, many longtime friends, their children and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
