Margaret V. (Lagace) Bournival, 102, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family after a long ilness on March 16, 2022 at Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH.
Born on August 3, 1919 in Montreal, Canada she is the daughter of the late Julien & Elizabeth ( Guilbeault) Lagace. Margaret was raised in Connecticut and spent most of her adult life in New Hampshire, where she graduated from Manchester West High. She worked many years as a secretary at several local businesses where she met her future husband J. Maurice Bournival. Ending her career at Saint Anselm College in the dean of student's office. Continuing her close connection to Saint Anselm, Margaret earned a Bachelor of Art degree in history later in life. She was very proud of this accomplishment. Her many interests were reading books, cooking, an avid gardener, health enthusiast and babysitting her grandchildren through the years. She enjoyed annual winter trips to Florida. A longtime parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Goffstown as well as a volunteer Lector. Margaret deeply loved her husband and family and enjoyed spending quality time with them all and always with a smile on her face. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 68 years J. Maurice Bournival of Goffstown, four daughters, Janice Brown of Manchester NH, AT Brown of Daytona Beach, FL, Christine Bournival Bodi of Hooksett, NH and Elizabeth Bournival Dottery of Manchester, NH. 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her only son Maurice A. Bournival, her sisters Cecile, Dorothy, Bernadette, Elizabeth and Florence, her brothers Edward, Joseph, and Albert.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday March 23, 2022 at 12pm at the St. Lawrence Church, 1 East Union St. Goffstown, NH. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Dementia-Alzheimers Foundation or the National Audubon Society.
