Margaret (Peg) Doyle of Mission Oaks Assisted Living (formerly The Villages, FL) passed away on Sunday, October 13th. Peg leaves her children Janet Rose Long and husband Gary Long of Oakland New Jersey, her son Stephen and wife, Mary of Fairfield Connecticut. Her son Kenneth Doyle had passed away in 1976 and her husband Donald Doyle passed away this past January.
She leaves seven grandchildren, Melissa Doyle Cataldo and husband Anthony of Massachusetts, Megan Doyle Chruisciel and her husband Andrew of Massachusetts, Lauren Long and Sara Long of Brooklyn New York, Brittany Long of Massachusetts, Allyson Doyle and Matthew Doyle of Fairfield Connecticut. In addition, she leaves three great-grandchildren; Anthony, Alex and Andrew Cataldo also of Massachusetts.
Her family also includes her beloved brother and sisters-in-law including Rev. John Doyle, Sr. Mary Doyle, SND, Catherine Doyle Muirhead and Anne Doyle Kenny all of Massachusetts and James Doyle of Maryland. She also leaves her sister, Dorothy Power formerly of The Villages and now of Massachusetts.
Peg was born in Boston, MA to John and Mary McMasters, and attended Burdett College in Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 18 years. She married Donald Doyle and moved to first Plainville and later Fairfield Connecticut in 1963 where Peg was employed at Fairfield University for 17 years for the Dean of Student Services. In 1980 Donald's work took them to Chicago and Kentucky before moving back to Southport Connecticut in 1985 when Peg took a position at Greens Farms Academy as Assistant to the Head of the Middle School for another 17 years.
In 2002 Peg and her husband Don moved to The Villages and joined the parish community at St. Timothy's where they both became liturgical bereavement ministers as well as numerous activities within The Villages. She attended her husband's class on Creative Writing at The Villages Lifelong College.
She will be especially remembered for her devotion to St. Therese of Lisieux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 17, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield, FL. Interment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL will follow.
