Marcia Ann Levitsky, of East Lyme, CT, formerly of Auburn and Worcester, passed away on June 30, 2022, at home. She was born on May 18, 1952, in Worcester, the daughter of Henry Rossik of Auburn, MA, and the late Helen Leszcynski Rossik. Marcia knew what she wanted and pushed herself to get there. When the children were finally in higher grade school, she pursued a college degree in education. She received her Associates Degree from Three Rivers College, Then her Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Connecticut State College. She secured a teaching position in the Business Department of Ella Grasso Regional Vocational Technical High School. She then obtained her Masters Degree from Lesley College. She received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2005. She was later promoted to Department Head. She loved to go camping in the family trailer to Maine, Lake George, Virginia and Cape Cod. She enjoyed County music and tending to the gardens at home. She especially cherished her grandchildren. In addition to her father, Marcia is survived by her husband Frederick Levitsky; children Melissa Davis and her husband Justin of Waterford, Jason Levitsky and his wife Katelyn of Old Lyme and Brian Levitsky and his wife Kara of Salem; brother Michael Rissik of Buzzards Bay; grandchildren Ryan and Paige Davis, Stella, Oliver, and Grace Levitsky. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter Brynn Levitsky.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 5th from 6-8pm at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave., Niantic, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurses of Southeastern Connecticut, at vnasc.org or VNASC, 403 Frontage Rd., Waterford, CT 06385.
