Marcella H. Fritz, 90 of Tomah passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Tomah Health. She was born on February 19, 1932, to Leslie and Leola (Westpfahl) Gamerdinger in Tomah, WI and baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. She attended St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Grade School and later graduated from the Tomah High School. On October 21, 1950, Marcella was united in marriage to Sydney Fritz at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death. In 1966, Sydney and Marcella relocated to the Fox Cities area where Marcella worked for Presto Products, Inc as a computer-materials coordinator for over 29 years before retiring. In the 1996, she moved back to Tomah.
In her younger years, Marcella enjoyed going out to the Westpfahl family farm, spending her summers on the farm with her brother, Donald. That country style living appealed to Marcella and when Marcella and Sydney moved to a farmette, she started finding ways to live off land. She loved growing vegetables in the garden and canning in the fall, tending to the chickens and beef cattle. She also enjoyed crafting, knitting, playing cards and fishing in her spare time.
Marcella was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, serving on the Ladies Circle for several years. Marcella was also a passionate supporter of the Relay for Life, serving as an honorary chairman for several years. She will be remembered for her strength and perseverance during challenging times. She was a survivor.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Kathy) Fritz of Mountain, WI, Denise (Duwayne) Sawall of Red Granite, WI, and Kenneth (Jan) Fritz of Appleton, WI, 3 grandchildren, Terry (significant other, Tracy), Matthew (Fianc?e, Jenny), Adam (Gina) 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, siblings , Arlene Birkeness, Helen (Vince) Rowan Sr., Arlys Maas, and Lucy Varney all of Tomah, many nieces, nephew, and other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and spouses, Donald and Norma Jean Gamerdinger, Howard Gamerdinger, Grace and Jerry Beltz, Stanley Varney.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, 12:00 Noon at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah, WI 54660. The Pastors of St. Paul's will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the services.
A Graveside Committal Service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, 1:00 PM Riverside Cemetery, 714 N. Owaissa St., Appleton, WI.
