Church service for Marcella "Sally" Ellis, age 92, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 2, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Muleshoe with Dr. Stacy Conner of Muleshoe officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park. Sally died Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in Muleshoe. She was born June 5, 1929 in Aurelia, Iowa to Charles L. and Martha Marie (Bischel) Pingel. She married Frank Ellis in Amarillo, Texas on June 11, 1950.
Sally and her husband, Frank, owned and operated Ellis Funeral Home in Muleshoe beginning in 1959. She was an excellent cook, and was known for her peanut brittle, Texas cream pies and elderberry jelly. She was also an avid bridge player. Sally was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Muleshoe as well as the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed spending time at her home in Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; two sisters, Beulah "Beth" Pingel and Betty Lou Compton; two brothers, Charles Dale Pingle and Wayne Pingel.
Sally is survived by her three sons, Frank "Trey" Ellis III and his wife, Tracy of Friona, Texas, Dan Ellis and his wife, Teresa of Smithville, Texas and Todd Ellis and his wife Starla of Muleshoe, Texas; her sister, Patricia Ann Skelpsa and her husband, Vince of Phoenix, Arizona; her sister-in-law, Berna Ruth Ellis of Amarillo, Texas; her seven grandchildren, Quint Ellis and his wife, Ivy, Whitney Rodriguez and her husband, Huber, Josh Ellis, Brian Ellis, Becky Tiner and her husband, Glenn, Colt Ellis and his wife, Leslie and Dusty Clayton and his wife, Lindsey; and her thirteen great-grandchildren, Drew, Reid, Lane, Vivian, Finn, Isaac, Kenna, Kayde, Jake, Jordyn, Roslyn, Bentlee and Collins.
