A Funeral Mass will be held for Marcelene Hardy at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindale with a private family graveside to follow at Fairway Garden of Memories Cemetery in Van. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2026, starting at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to be held at 6:00 p.m. at Hilliard Funeral Home. Family will serve as pallbearers.
Marcelene Smith Musick Hardy was born August 9, 1929, in Smith County. She was a resident of the Smith and Van Zandt County area all of her life. She worked in nursing for many years, starting as an LVN and operating technician, and then went back to further her education as an RN. She was bold, smart and caring. Marcelene, along with her husband, Bill, was a charter member of Holy Family Catholic Church. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and visiting with family and friends.
Marcelene passed away at the age of 96 on December 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bill Hardy; daughters, Maria Henson and Janey Musick; son, Michael Hardy; her father, Russell William Smith; and mother, Allie Dee Jones Beam.
Survivors her children and their spouses, Geoff & Susie Hardy, Billy & Mandy Hardy, Lynn Musick & Ken Nipp, David & Debbie Stone Musick, and Tom & Rhonda Musick; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members.
