Manette Moody Dayton

Manette Moody Dayton passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. She was born in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1928, and would proudly proclaim that she was a New Englander. Manette graduated from Connecticut College and went on to teach in Glen Head N.Y. She lived in Chappaqua N.Y. for 40 years before coming to Richmond in 1996. She lived at Cedarfield in Henrico from 1996 until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Holmes Dayton and her daughter Heather Dayton. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Dayton Stark, her son-in-law Thomas Stark IV and two grandsons, Andrew D Stark and Duncan W Stark.
She volunteered at many charities in New York. She was active in St. John's Episcopal Church in Pleasantville, and she was a docent at the Caramoor Museum in Katonah, New York. When she came to Cedarfield, she continued to be involved with many activities and volunteering with charities such as Meals on Wheels, Friendship Force, the International Red Cross and the Shepherd's Center. She loved travel and did so extensively. She loved cross country skiing and all outdoor activities. But, most of all, she loved her family.
The family will have a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association - Henrico County Va.
