Funeral Services for Major Victor G. Ramage, USAF, Retired, who passed away on February 22, 2022, will be conducted Friday morning, March 4 at 10 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery with Veteran's Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Major Ramage was a 1951 graduate of North Augusta High School, where he excelled as a football player. He was a 1956 graduate of the University of South Carolina. He served 21 years as an Air Force pilot. Tours of duty include two tours in Vietnam; a tour at Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina; Alaska Air Command; Scott Air Force Base headquarters; Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina; and Dover Air Force Delaware. He was also a test pilot at the USAF Flight Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base California where he flew the biggest airliner in the world, the C-5A.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Betty Claire Banks Ramage. He is survived by his children: daughter Renee Louise Collins of Savannah, Georgia; son Victor G. Ramage Jr. of Kent Island, Maryland; and son Jayceson C. B. Ramage of Tega Cay, South Carolina. He is also survived by his five granddaughters, Tobi Weingart, Elizabeth Collins, Taylor Ramage, Grace Ramage, and Chelsie Ramage; and two great-granddaughters, Betty Weingart and Maggie Weingart.
