Major William Gosser, at 88 years old died March 14, 2021 at Northwest Texas Hospital
in Amarillo, Texas. He was born in Hays, Kansas to Bill & Gladys Gosser. His surviving siblings are
Jean Mai of Russell, Kansas, Edna Pfeifer of Broomfield, Colorado, Roy Gosser of Parker,
Colorado and Carolyn Braun of Hays, Kansas.
In 1955, he married Phyllis Wickham in Hays, Kansas. Their children are Major "Bud"
Gosser II of Clay Center, Nebraska, Susan Day of Dayton, Ohio, Jon Gosser of Amarillo, Texas
and Dawn Gosser of Ashville, North Carolina.
There are 6 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 4 great grandsons, and 4 great
granddaughters.
Major was in the Korean War in 1953. There he was trained as a truck driver. He then
drove a truck for Haliburton and Scurlock Permian. He worked for over 30 years in this industry
and drove over 1 million miles accident free. Major also enjoyed fishing, daschunds and polka
dancing in his free time. Major and Phyllis danced the night away for several decades with the
Sunflower Polka Club.
