Madolyn Carole LaMonica passed away at the age of 66 on September 15, 2022. She was a devoted grandmother, mother and friend. Madolyn embodied the Little Way of St. Therese of Lisieux; she did small things with great love every day. The love and joy within her radiated, illuminating all of those around her. Originally from Claremore, Oklahoma, Madolyn made her home in Midland. She lived her life bringing people together. Her laughter proceeded her into every room she entered. Madolyn's greatest joy was being with her family. She loved to sit in her garden and watch the birds. Nothing made her happier than picking flowers with her grandchildren. Her friends remember her compassion and love. She drew great strength from her work with the Church. Madolyn is reunited in heaven with her granddaughter, Poppy LaMonica, and her father, Kenneth Oldham. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Deacon Mike; son, Jonah, and granddaughters Ruby, Violet and Merigold; daughter, Nakeisha Schimke, and son-in-law Henry Schimke; mother, Betty Oldham; sisters Paula Watson and Mary O'Dell; brothers Edward Oldham and Kenneth Oldham; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A vigil will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at San Miguel Arcangel Catholic Church, 1100 Camp Street, Midland, Texas 79701, with Father Bernard Getigan presiding followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated by Father Patrick Akpanobong at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 19, 2022, at San Miguel Arcangel Catholic Church. Funeral services entrusted to Willowbrook Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Midland. To place online condolences, please visit www.willowbrk.com.
