M. Ronald Hamby went home on Monday, July 18, 2022, in Fredericksburg, Texas, at the age of 79 years, after a short bout with cancer.
He was born in Big Spring, Texas on Jan. 2, 1943 where he grew up.
Ron attended Howard College in Big Spring before going on and graduating from McMurry College in Abilene, Texas and from Southern Methodist University in Dallas Texas, Cum Laude.
He went on to pastor Methodist churches for 15 years. Afterward, he worked for New York-based Communispond, rising to Vice President Regional Manager for Houston and Dallas. Ten years after joining Communispond, he opened his own business, Executive Skills Company, until retirement.
Ron was an avid fisherman and golfer. He and Kathryn were able to spend seven years in their RV, traveling and seeing the United States before settling in and living six months in Texas and six in Minnesota.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, M. Raymond Hamby, and mother, Margaret Hamby Hull.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Beach Hamby; daughters, Juli Pullen of Burleson, Texas; Hartley Acero and husband, Romero, of Grand Marais, Minnesota and Devlin DuVall and husband, Mike, of Austin, Texas.
Also surviving are step sons, Matthew Dean and wife, Colleen, of Los Angeles, California; Luke Dean of Germany, and Palmer Dean and wife, Hannah, of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is also survived by a brother, Ken Hamby and wife, Marsha, of The Woodlands, Texas; sister, Regina Riemondi and husband, Dan, of Godley, Texas; brother, Danny Hull of Colorado; an aunt, special cousins, beautiful loving nieces and nephews, and dear, dear friends!
A memorial for Ron's life will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 10 a.m., at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg, Texas, or your favorite charity.
