Lynn Carol (Pira) Rule of Hadley, MA died Thursday January 7 surrounded by her family.
Lynn was born on August 13, 1957 in Hadley, MA to the late Professor Edward Pira, of Suffield, CT, and Eva (Piotrowski) Pira, of Thompsonville, CT.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years Martin Rule, youngest son Andrew, son Scott and daughter-in-law Kailee. One brother David and his wife Evelyn of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Lynn grew up in a world full of wonder, full of sunny skies and clouds, fields full of grass and gardens full of flowers, puddles, and polliwogs. She loved all creatures great and small. Every dog, cat, bird, and frog found a place in her heart.
For her entire life Lynn had only one hobby that she loved, one hobby that she practiced every day for her whole life.
Her hobby was kindness and niceness, a true caring for every living being. This was inborn in her heart and soul at birth and grew everyday as she walked this earth for 63 years with us.
From an early age Lynn excelled in academics. Lynn graduated from Hopkins Academy in 1975 and earned a membership in the National Honor Society, based on her grades, leadership, service, and character. She was awarded a scholarship to the University of New Hampshire, majoring in Political Science. She worked nights, weekends, Jan. terms and summers, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in three years.
After college she wanted adventure so her and Marty moved to South Florida. She got a job with a national law firm and within 2 years she earned the respect of the judges, senior partners, and lawyers she worked with and was promoted to Senior Paralegal. Her work was so exceptional the law firm wanted to send her to law school, but Lynn had other plans.
Along with the sun and fun of living in South Miami in the early '80s came the extreme stress and pressure of her job. She decided it was time to move back home to be with family and start a family of her own.
Over the next 33 years she raised a good husband and two fine sons. She lovingly cared for both of her parents, everyone in her family and her pets.
She loved traveling, vacationing, camping or hoteling, seeing new sights, long rides, gardening, and every puppy she ever saw. She also loved peace and her river front property, grilling, and relaxing and having good times with family and friends, watching the sunsets.
She will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.
