Born August 8, 1940 to LeRoy (Pop) and Retha Elliott. He lived his entire life in Anderson, Indiana. He loved life, his family and cars and it was evident in everything he did. His first mode of transportation, at the age of 15 was a 1945 (45) Harley Davidson motorcycle and later from 1959 to 1961 he began racing Go-Carts at local tracks around Anderson. He served his Country by joining the Indiana National Guard, 138 Signal Battalion from 1963-69. He worked at Reeder Heating in Anderson from 1961 to 1964 installing furnaces around Anderson and later in 1964 he hired on at Delco Remy Plant 11 where he later retired in 1996. He married Linda (Sczesny) June 19, 1964, the love of his life, together they had a son, Todd in 1965. Butch was a dedicated husband who cared for his wife for 53 years who had Polio up until her death due to COPD on March 11, 2017. Butch would help with picking up his grandson after school, together they would run errands and have fun goofing off. Butch was known by many of Tristen's friends for doing burn outs in his lowered 2000 S-10 truck. Butch remained a kid at heart even as he grew old. He was a best friend, mentor and the best Dad, father-in-law, and Papaw anyone could ask for. Butch is remembered for his hobby and passion for cars. He was often consulted by family and friends when mechanical work was needed. His need for speed and love of cars led him to collect various classic cars, which are left in various stages of build. He passed his knowledge and love of cars onto his son Todd and grandson Tristen. He will never be forgotten because of all of the memories made building, buying and the many car shows they attended together. They made memories that will keep Butch's memory alive for many years to come. Two years after the passing of his wife, Butch moved in with his son, Todd, daughter in law, Teresa and grandson Tristen, who helped care for him throughout many health conditions. He was a strong-willed man who loved life and overcome many health obstacles. He proved all his healthcare providers wrong by surviving several diseases and illnesses including Covid. Unfortunately, dialysis took its toll on him after a 2 1/2 year courageous battle in which he became too weak to continue. He left us on October 8th at his son's home, surrounded by those he loved, leaving a hole in our lives that will never be filled. We will forever miss him until we meet him again. Butch is preceded in death by his parents, brothers - LeRoy Elliott Jr, Leonard Elliott, Cecil Elliott, and sister - Sandra (Elliott) Dicks and his wife Linda. Butch's memory will be carried on by his son Todd Elliott (Teresa), grandson Tristen Elliott and Sister Darlene (Elliott) Sheets, and dear friend Tommy Sheets, brother-in-law Mike (Cookie) McKinney, along with several nieces and nephews. Special thank you to the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center in Anderson and Cardiac Rehab at Ascension Health Anderson for being so kind to Butch. Graveside services will be held at Frankton K of P Cemetery on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 3pm. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date-family will announce.
