Lynda was born on October 12, 1956, at Fort Monmouth, NJ, the daughter of Donald and Liz Gordon of Pewaukee WI, who survive. On July 12, 1980, in Greendale, WI, Lynda married Anton "Tony" Bauschka, her high school sweetheart, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Christopher Bauschka of Madison, WI, and Kathrine E. Bauschka of New Hudson, MI. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth D. (Susan) Gordon of Wisconsin.
Lynda grew up in Greendale, WI, and graduated in 1974 from Greendale High School. She then went on to earn her bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in 1978 and began her career as a commercial interior designer.
In 1980, Lynda moved to St. Louis, MO, and began her journey across the country. In 1987, she and Tony moved to Newport Beach, CA, where she continued her career as a designer until she changed careers and became a stay-at-home mom. Over the following years, she and her family moved to Skaneateles, NY; Solon, OH; Novi, MI; and finally in 2002, Granger IN.
After her children were born, Lynda began a lifelong career of volunteering. She was a PTO volunteer at her children's schools, a Cub Scout den mother, Girl Scout leader, Lego League coach, and uniform mom for the Penn High School marching band and the Penn Orchestra. After her children finished school, she continued to find ways to keep busy. She worked as the Scout shop manager for the Boy Scouts for several years. For three years, she packed up and moved to Camp Tamerack for six weeks during the summer to manage the camp trading post.
Her last volunteer activity was being the executive coordinator for the Economic Club of Michiana. She truly enjoyed working with the club, organizing its monthly luncheons, and working with the membership.
Lynda loved vacationing with her family. Some of her favorite vacations were to National Parks, where she loved hiking as many different trails as possible. She also enjoyed an annual vacation to Door County, WI, where she would hike, visit artists, kayak along the shores of Green Bay and Lake Michigan, and watch the sun set at Sister Bay Beach.
