Lyle was born to Edwin Phillips and Nora (schmidt) Phillips in Leavenworth, WA and grew up in Cashmere, WA.
Lyle moved with with his parents and his brothers to Monroe, WA in 1962.
He graduated from Monroe High School in 1967. Shortly after graduating he enlisted into the U.S. Army where he proudly served in Korea in 1968 and then in Vietnam with the 1st Air Cavalry in 1969. He received many citations and medals for his service and was honorably discharged in 1970.
While in high school his friend Alan Scholl introduced him to his sister Sharon and on September 24th, 1971 Lyle and Sharon were married and would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.
Lyle went to meet his parents and his mother-in-law and father-in-law.
His brothers-in-law Alan Scholl, Dennis Scholl, and Jim Scholl. His sister-in-law Bonnie Phillips.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, their children, daughter Jennifer (Glen) Swindoll, sons Edwin (Carrie) Phillips, and Jeramie (Jami) Phillips, sister-in-law Linda Scholl and his 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Brother- Meryl, Alan (Cheri), Stephen and special brother Russ Long.
