Lucy Ann Saglio, 86, a life-long resident of Clinton passed away on August 26th after a long illness. Lucy was born in New Britain, CT on March 24, 1935. She graduated from the Morgan School, received her BS degree from Teacher's College of Connecticut and her MS degree from Central Connecticut State College. Lucy spent most of her career as a teacher and speech pathologist with Regional School District 17 in Haddam- Killingworth where she retired after 35 years. Lucy was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a communicant of St Mary's church as well as many other civic organizations throughout her time in Clinton. She is pre-deceased by her parents, James and Josephine (Scalise) Saglio and her Brother, James Saglio Jr. Lucy is survived by her sister- in -law, Lois (Watrous) Saglio, nieces, Barbara LaMark and her husband Tony and Louise (Saglio) Bowman and her husband Allen great-nieces Angela (LaMark) Furgal and her husband Kevin and Ashley Bowman, great-great nieces, Brooke and Jenna Furgal as well several cousins. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Church of the Visitation in Clinton on Thursday, September 2nd at 11am. Visitation will be at the church foyer prior to mass from 10am to 10:45. Burial will follow the funeral service at St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
