Lucius M. "Mickey" Amburn Jr.

Mr. Lucius M. "Mickey" Amburn, Jr., 60, of Worth County, GA, died on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at his residence.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow in the Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev. Doug Hall will officiate.

Mr. Amburn was born on March 18, 1964 in Oak Ridge, TN and lived in Worth County for the past 22 years. He was employed with the Dougherty County Public Works Engineering Department. Mr. Amburn enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his friends and family, especially his canine companion Rolo.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Amburn of Worth County, GA; children, Lucius Amburn, III (Danielle), Cristine Kersey, Jay Chafin (Kristin) and Kip Chafin; mother, Terry King Amburn; grandchildren, Olivia Kelley and Lucius Amburn IV; brother-in-law, Keith Moree (Kayla); nephews, Blake Castleberry (Jennifer), Nick Castleberry (Ashley) and Reed Castleberry and numerous great nephews and nieces; uncle, James Amburn; aunts, Carolyn Deaton and Roberta Coley.

Mr. Amburn was preceded in death by his father, Lucius "Mac" Amburn, Sr and a sister, Dee Anne Castleberry.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
