Our Lord and Savior called our dear mom home to join the love of her life on June 27, 2022. Lucille Sophronia Bonnet Proffitt, age 89, passed peacefully with family by her side.
Lucy is survived by her three daughters, Teresa Ann Proffitt of Austin, Cindy Lou Proffitt Jackson of Austin, and Connie Sue Harrell of Johnson City, as well as three grandchildren, Mason Dale Harrell, Savannah Lucille Jackson and Randi Lynn Harrell. She is also survived by her siblings, Esther Miller Strange, James Bonnet and wife Martha, Jerry Bonnet and wife Sandra, and many other family and friends.
Lucy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Dale Proffitt, her parents, Felix Milton Bonnet and Bulah Blanch Preece Bonnet, sisters, Bonnie Bonnet, Mildred Blanch Hammack and Dorothy Christine Burlin, and brothers, Ray Benton Bonnet, Loyad Joseph Bonnet, Vernon Milton Bonnet and Raymond Allison Bonnet.
Lucille was born on December 5, 1932 in Leander, TX. She was the oldest daughter of Felix and Blanch Bonnet and took on many responsibilities growing up. She moved to Austin at age 15 to work but returned home for many Leander football and baseball games. That is where she met her one true love, Dale. While staying at home raising three daughters she discovered her love for nature and art. Lucy also loved spending time with family and going on road trips in their fifth wheel camper.
Nanny will be remembered for her kind heart and quick wit, her love of life and love of art, being outdoors, painting, gardening or just sitting and visiting while people watching. We miss you dearly but are comforted knowing that you are, once again, holding hands with Pawpaw. Now Nanny...may you forever Rest In Peace.
If you wish, you may make donations in Lucy's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
