Mrs. Lucille Stewart "Mawma Lucy" Huffington, age 78, of Delphi, Indiana formerly of Trimble County, Kentucky entered this life on August 6, 1942 in Trimble County, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late Edmond C. "Ed" and Rosie Kathryn Craig Stewart. She was raised in Trimble County and attended school there. Lucy was raised in the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Madison where she began her love for reading the Bible. She worked for several years as a cook in several nursing homes. Lucy was known for her cooking skills and delicious meals that she would prepare. She had also worked for God's Bible College in Cincinnati where she was the cook. On April 12, 1988 she was united in marriage to Dennis R. Huffington in Bedford, Kentucky. This happy union of 33 years blended two families together. Lucy and Dennis resided in Delphi, Indiana since 1996 and were members of the First Church of the Nazarene there. She had worked from 1994-2006 at Wabash National in Lafayette as an assembler. She loved cooking for her husband, children, and her grandchildren. Time spent with her family was the most precious to her. She loved reading her Bible, going to Church, loved to watch the birds and work in her flowers. She was a devoted wife, loving mom, sister and Mawma. Lucille died on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 4:21 a.m. at her home in Delphi, Indiana. Lucille will be missed by her loving husband of 33 years, Dennis R. Huffington of Delphi, Indiana; her loving daughter, Melody Ann Gross Carr and her husband, Pastor George Carr of Coshocton, Ohio; her loving son, Paul Douglas Gross and his wife Tammy of Hanover, Indiana; her loving grandchildren, Scott Gross (Cindy), Holly Marie Gross Bennett (Pauline), Felicia Beth Smith (Mark), Abby Rose Tovar, Julie Mulford (Justin), April McHenry, Jessica Schlegel (Briar), Jeffrey A. Carr, and Carrie McBride (Loren); her great grandchildren, Keagan, Michael, Landon, and Charity Ann Gross, Trenton Toomey, Connor Dean, Chloe Sue and Blake Douglas Povaleri, Zander and Zavier Tovar, Adelene Mulford, Brantley Isaiah McHenry, Cora Elizabeth and Graham Winston Schlegel, Carson James and Evaline McBride; her step children, Amanda Kent and her husband, Dennis of Madison, Indiana, Kevin Davis and his wife, Megan of La Grange, Kentucky, Miranda Wright and her husband, Jason of Bedford, Kentucky; her step grandchildren, Ashton Zane and Dennis Ryan, Emily Marie, and Braylon Case Kent; Zayne Ray, Parker Dugan, and Ava Marie Davis; Emalin Grace and Aleah Faith Cull and Owen Kirk Jackson; her sisters, Wanda Harmon and her husband, John of Madison, Indiana, JoAnn Durcholz and her husband, Mark of French Lick, Indiana, Donna Hughes and her husband, Ronnie of Bedford, Kentucky; her brother in law, James Huffington and his wife, Anna of Madison, Indiana; her sister in law, Marie Howard of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Edmond C. "Ed" Stewart, died October 5, 1981, her mother, Rosie Kathryn Craig Stewart, died January 25, 1986, her brothers, Wayne Stewart, died January 26, 1944, Donald Stewart, died May 31, 2002, Robert William Stewart, died May 5, 2016, and Boyd Phillip Stewart Sr., died August 29, 2020, and her sister, Barbara Stewart Hatchell, died October 14, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at 12:00 p.m., by Pastor Joe King and Pastor George Carr at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. Friends may visit Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
