Lucille Davidson, 97, of Ashton, Idaho passed away July 24, 2021.
Lucille was born May 21, 1924 in Drummond, Idaho. She was the daughter of Joseph and Luella Hendrickson.
Lucille grew up in the Ashton area. She attended elementary school in Drummond and Farnum. The family then moved to Marysville and she graduated from Ashton High School in 1942. Lucille moved to Salt Lake City right after graduating where she worked for Remington Arms inspecting "those 50 caliber shells", enjoyed going to dances at the USO, and spending time with her sisters.
Lucille moved back to Ashton and met Jim Davidson, the love of her life. They were married 10 December, 1955. Jim and Lucille were blessed with three children and were busy raising them when Jim was killed in a trucking accident in May of 1962. Lucille worked hard to raise her family on her own. She had many jobs, but is most remembered for serving the best milkshakes at the City Drug and then giving her favorite students extra milk at Ashton Elementary. She was proud of her children and was always there to support them in everything they did. The same went for their friends and then her grandchildren. If you asked each grandchild which one was her favorite, they would answer "I was". She loved her family and her faith more than anything.
Lucille was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held various callings. Their family was sealed for Time and All Eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on 1 February, 1964.
Lucille lived a full and happy life. She never remarried. When asked why, she always said, "Once you've found the best, you don't have to look for anyone else".
Lucille is survived by her children, Kim Hull of Pocatello, Mike (Sherri) Davidson of Ashton, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and her brother Allen (Doreen) Hendrickson of Orem, Utah. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Davidson and daughter Kathy Davidson.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Ashton Living Center staff for their tender and loving care. Thank you for loving and caring for our Mom and Grandma. They would also like to thank the American Legion Auxiliary for their service. Lucille was a member for many, many years.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Ashton Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 11:00 to 11:45 am at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main Street in Ashton before going to the cemetery for services.
