Lucille G. Bouchard (Lou), beloved wife of the late Alfred J. Bouchard (Fred), passed away peacefully at home in Raymond, New Hampshire on November 1, 2022.
Eldest child of Bertrand and Bernadette Pinsonneault, Lou was a 1953 graduate of St. Marie's High School on Manchester's West Side, growing up surrounded by a large and loving extended family. She and the love of her life, Fred, were married at St. Marie's in 1953, just days before Fred deployed to wartime Korea as a U.S. Marine. They enjoyed a short honeymoon in New York City, dancing to the music of Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra. Fred was blessed to survive and start a family with Lou, raising three children in a variety of duty stations, including their favorite, Hawaii. Lou was a devoted wife and resilient sole parent whenever duty called her husband far away, a regular occurrence during Fred's 28 years of military service.
Supportive military wife and dedicated homemaker, Lou was known to be a particularly well organized and neat person who took pride in her appearance. Her home and attire were always immaculate. Lou worked in various capacities, culminating as store manager at Gosselin's Pharmacy, retiring after more than twenty years there. She enjoyed working with customers from the same neighborhood in which she had been raised and returned after Fred's military retirement in 1981. Following Lou & Fred's second retirements in 1997, they moved back to their beloved Hawaii, making their home on Maui near their two sons and family, while summering yearly in Manchester with their daughter and extended family. As a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, memere and aunt, what mattered most in Lou's life was her family. More than any singular accomplishment, Lou adored and defined herself by family, and was happiest when surrounded by loved ones. The affection and memories she bestowed upon us are her enduring legacy of love. Lou & Fred were married for over 60 years. Lou was preceded in death by Fred in 2014, and will be interred with him at Boscawen Veteran's Cemetery.
Lou is survived by her three children and their spouses, Michael & Noelani Bouchard of Hawaii, Cheryl & Robert Banker of Raymond, and Steven & Jocelyn Bouchard of Hawaii. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, brother, and their spouses, Lorraine & Raymond Provencher, Lillian Gosselin, and Maurice & Madeleine Pinsonneault. And by her brother-in-law Roland Bouchard and sister-in-law Doris Guimont, grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Lou will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by all whose lives she graced. Until we meet again.
Lou's visitation will take place on Friday, November 18th, from 10:00am-11:00am at The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. Her memorial service will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
