Lucia Isabel Gonzalez,87, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Los Saenz, Texas, Mrs. Gonzalez was a homemaker and an adoring and loving mother to her two daughters Estela (Rolando) Garcia and Elma (Miguel, Sr.) Serrano; her seven sons Esteban (Maribel) Gonzalez, Jr., Eloy (Marivel M.) Gonzalez, Ernesto (Nora) Gonzalez, Enrique (Anna) Gonzalez, Emilio (Alma) Gonzalez, Cecilio Gonzalez and Rene (Claudia) Gonzalez; her brother, Luis Garza; two sisters, Guadalupe Mata and Lydia Ayala; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Mrs. Gonzalez is preceded in death by the love of her life, Esteban Gonzalez, Sr., her son, Eduardo Gonzalez and her two brothers, Leonel and Leopoldo Garza.
Visitations will begin Tuesday January 11, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary being recited at Ceballos Funeral Home Chapel in McAllen. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church of McAllen with Deacon Joe Vargas officiating. Burial will follow 1:00 p.m. at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
