It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lowell Gerald Reese. On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Gerald returned home to his Heavenly Father. He passed away at his home in Hyde Park, Utah, surrounded by family. He will be greeted in Heaven by his eternal companion, Ila Ree Jackson Reese, mother, Helen Reese and father, Lowell Reese.
Gerald is survived by brothers Ronald, Gaylen, and Daryl Reese, and his children, Jack, Randy, Teresa, and ValaRee, and by 8 grandchildren.
He was born on October 5, 1935 and grew up in Benson, UT. After three years of service in the US Air Force in Germany, Gerald married his sweetheart, Ila Ree, in 1964. Gerald continued to work in civil service for the US Air Force, completing a 33-year career marked by impressive service and performance earning him senior executive status.
Gerald lived true to his values, prioritizing family, faith, and country. He served in numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and proudly displayed the US flag as a symbol of his love of country. Family was probably the most important thing in Gerald's life and he enjoyed playing with his young grandchildren, and was always sad when family left after an enjoyable visit.
Gerald was a cowboy through and through and was easily recognized by his cowboy hat that he always wore. He loved horses and shared this love with his family and community.
He will be deeply missed. There is a huge hole in our family now that will never be filled. "So long for now," Dad, Brother, Uncle, and Grandpa.
Funeral Services will be held at the Hyde Park Center Street Chapel on Saturday, 10 August 2024 with a viewing at 11:30am - 12:30pm, and service at 1:00 pm followed by graveside service at Logan Cemetery. There will be a viewing in the chapel on Friday 9 August 2024 from 6-8pm.
