Lowell Hinsch left his earthly home in Tyler, TX to be with his Heavenly Father on November 30, 2022. He was born June 6, 1937 in Pepin, Wisconsin to Gladys Ray and Louis Detlof Hinsch.
Lowell graduated from Clear Lake High School and Drake University both are in Iowa. He began his career in the Financial Management Program with General Electric in Schenectady, NY. While in Schenectady, he was drafted into the US Army and was stationed at Granite City, IL, where he met his future wife, Shirley Faye Drennan. After a brief courtship they were married on October 1, 1961 a week before he was transferred to France. They were married for 59 years before her death on January 27, 2021.
Lowell worked for General Electric and Trane in various fiscal management positions for over 43 years. After his retirement from Trane, he worked as the Director of Finance for Pollard United Methodist Church for 10 years before he retired again.
Lowell was active in church in the various places his career led him. The last 24 years were spent at Pollard where one of his greatest joys was leading the Glory Singers. Lowell was also active in missions and the Epworth Sunday School Class. He sang in various regional choirs and barbershop groups throughout his life. The musical highlight for his family was the piano recital he performed for his 50th birthday for family and friends. He was also active in various service organizations including the Kiwanis where he served as president and treasurer. Another joy for Lowell was serving as a reading volunteer at several elementary schools in TISD.
Lowell is survived by his son, Scott Hinsch and wife, Paula; grandsons, Kyle and Andrew Hinsch of Greenwood, AR; and daughter, Deborah Hinsch of Tyler, TX. He is also survived by his sister, Kathryn Hinsch Hammer, of Lakeland, CO; and brothers, Ray Hinsch and wife, Jane, of Warrenville, IL and Bryce Hinsch and wife, Sharon Willoughby, of Williamsburg, VA. Also included are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled from 9:30-10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, prior to the 10:30 AM memorial service at Pollard United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to Pollard UMC Memorial Fund located at 3030 New Copeland Road, Tyler, TX 75701.
