Mr. Lowell Ralph "Buzzy" Canada passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023.
He was born on August 10, 1936, in Rome son of the late Julius Canada and the late Annie Lou Duncan Canada. Buzzy grew up in Shannon, Georgia and later moved to the Coosa area. Buzzy served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On September 10, 1954, he married Mary Ann Littlejohn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five of his brothers and his two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Littlejohn Canada; his brother, Caldwell Canada (Gayle); his children, Donna Foster Wheatley (Walt) and Dale Canada (Faith); his grandchildren, Shana Canada, Kelsey Bieker (Tony), and Shane Canada. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, several close nieces, nephews and cousins.
Buzzy retired from Bekaert Steel in 1992 and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He loved fishing and watching NASCAR racing. He was an avid Atlanta Falcons football fan - win or lose. The best part of his time after retirement was spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm. No services are planned at this time.
The family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to Atrium-Floyd Medical Center ICU team for their care and hospitality to Mr. Canada and his family.
