Louise J. LeCompte, 88, of Dover, NH passed away peacefully at home November 25, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 15, 1934 in Concord, NH, son of Dr. Pierre A. Boucher and Laurence (Pigeon) Boucher.
After graduating valedictorian from Presentation of Mary in Hudson, N.H. in 1952, Louise married the love of her life, Norbert in 1955. They were married for 63 years until he predeceased her in 2018. Together they travelled the world during his military career living in Africa, England and across the U.S. While raising their five children, Louise established a career as an executive secretary in the Criminal Investigation Division of the IRS earning several awards for distinguished service to her country. At 51 Louise earned her Bachelor degree from The USNH School for Lifelong Learning graduating, again, as valedictorian.
Louise was passionate about current and world affairs - proud to have voted in every single election since eligible starting during the Eisenhower Administration. While living in England she became an equestrian. She appreciated art history, dabbled in painting, and loved all nature and animals, especially her dogs Sandy and little Joy. Louise loved to dance with Norbert and did so with fluid beauty.
A Eucharistic Minister, lector and a Cursillista, Louise was a communicant of The Parish of the Assumption in Dover. She built lifelong friendships within her faith community and ran the annual Mother's Carnation Day sale for years. As a means of giving back, she sponsored a child in in Asia from infancy to adulthood, corresponding with her through her life. She also volunteered at Birthright in Portsmouth, N.H. to help disadvantaged girls.
Louise is survived by three sons and two daughters: Michael, Denise, Paul, Thomas and Marcelle. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Andrew, Christine, David, Rachel, Danielle, Nicole and Natalie; great-grandsons, Levi, AJ, Otto and Maverick and great-granddaughter Vivian; daughter-in-law Michelle LeCompte and son-in-law Rick Friedman and was predeceased by daughter-in-law Pamela LeCompte.
Louise is survived by her loving siblings, Pauline Boucher of MA, Madeleine Boucher of MA, Marie Boucher of MA, and George Boucher of Chichester, N.H.; other family include in-laws Jeanne (LeCompte) Johnson, Roger LeCompte (deceased), Ernest LeCompte (deceased), Louise (Landry) LeCompte; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 1st from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave, Dover, N.H. A Funeral Mass will be held December 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave, Dover followed immediately by a luncheon. The service will be live streamed on the home page of www.Assumptiondovernh.org
Family-only internment will be on December, 5th at the State Veterans' Cemetery in Boscawen, N.H.
