Louis Joseph D'Amico died on Sunday, April 4,2021, at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC. He was 90 years old.
Born in Warren, Ohio to the late Joseph and Anna (Rossi) D'Amico, Louis graduated from St. Mary's High School before heading to George Washington University in Washington D.C. His college career was interrupted to serve in the Army during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge in 1953, he returned to GW to finish college and went on to earn a law degree in 1960. He joined the National Labor Relations Board out of law school, and stayed with the Agency for 40 years, rising to the position of Regional Director before his retirement in 2000.
Louis was predeceased by his parents; a first wife, Nancy Provost of Bristol, Connecticut; sister, Johanna Giordani of Ann Arbor, Michigan; brother, Albert D'Amico of Warren, Ohio; brother, Arnold D'Amico of South Euclid, Ohio; and brother, Edward D'Amico of Warren Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maye D'Amico of Asheville, North Carolina; son Louis J. D'Amico, Jr. (Amy) and granddaughter Lucy of Alexandria, Virginia; nieces, Ann M. D'Amico (Michael Caticchio) of Highland Heights, Ohio and Elaine D'Amico of Cleveland, Ohio; and nephew Bruno J. Giordani (Anne) of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
He was much loved and will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service with inurnment will be announced at a later date. Morris Funeral & Cremation Service is serving the family.
