Louella Urbanczyk July 14, 1925 - July 14, 2022 Fair Oaks, California - Louella entered heaven on her 97th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Urbanczyk, her son David Urbanczyk, and grandson David Goodier. Louella was born in Rensselaer, Indiana to Velma and James Vaughn in 1925. At the age of two, she was adopted into the loving home of her aunt and uncle, Laura and Henry Wiseman. She grew up, a child of the Great Depression, chasing fireflies on summer evenings, making hollyhock dolls, and sitting at the feet of her great grandmother listening to family histories and bible stories. She developed a love of books and learned the power of prayer and the written word. After graduating from high school in 1943, she joined the war effort as a nurse in training. She completed 1 year of training before leaving to marry her high school sweetheart Ted. They moved to California in 1950 with their son David and became an integral part of their parish as their family grew to include 4 daughters. Louella was an avid writer of poetry. She was published regularly in the Sacramento Union's "White Plume" column, Ideals Magazine, and The Catholic Herald. She co-authored "Poppyrose", a book of poetry, with her good friend Kathy Kaplan. She is survived by her daughters Laura Todd (John) of Marcola, Oregon, Miriam Lyons (Martin) of Fair Oaks, California, Elizabeth Moseby (Anthony) of Sacramento, California, and Cecilia Kitts (Steven) of Knoxville, Tennessee,16 grandchildren, and a host of great, as well as great-great grandchildren. We would like to thank Shadow and her team at Eskaton in Fair Oaks, CA for their gentle and loving care of Louella over the past 7 months, as well as the hospice team at Interim Healthcare. We will gather on September 14, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Marello Catholic Church in Granite Bay, CA to celebrate her life. She asked for prayers, Masses, and kindness to be offered on her behalf.
