Lorraine Willette Stewart Pennise, age 87, passed away at home Friday, November 5, 2021.
Born October 22, 1934 in Easton, PA, she spent her youth enjoying the outdoors, and particularly enjoyed both swimming and ice skating. After graduating from Easton High School, she met and married the love of her life, Sam, and together they moved to California. Lorraine received her AA degree from Pierce College in 1982, a BA in Economics from CSUN in 1984, and her MS in Acquisition and Contract Management from West Coast University in 1988. Her career path included working in real estate, store manager of Super Yarn Mart, and 15 years as a civilian employee of the US Air Force, where she received multiple performance awards.
Lorraine had a loving, kind, and adventurous spirit. Along with her husband she traveled far and wide, whether it was one of their many trips to Europe, or staying closer to home camping with her family in Yosemite. She was also incredibly intelligent, a downright voracious reader, and a lover of puzzles - particularly logic and jigsaw. When all of her boys were in Little League, she served as a member of the Board of Directors, as well as head score keeper. A natural night owl, Lorraine could often be found staying up late reading or doing puzzles with a sweet midnight snack in hand. More than anything else, Lorraine loved spending time with her family. Nothing made her happier than cooking for a busy houseful of family and friends during the holidays.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Lorraine Stewart (n?e Krell) and William C. Stewart, and her husband of 56 years, Sebastian "Sam" Pennise. She is survived by her children: Mike (Jing), Jerry, Randy (Kathy), Diana (Mike), and Jeff (Brittany); grandchildren: Sarah, Samantha, Mckenzie, Meredith, and Anthony; and great-granddaughter Trisha.
Lorraine will be laid to rest beside her beloved Sam in a graveside service at 12pm Wednesday, November 17th at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, CA 93010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the National Kidney Foundation or Alzheimer's Association.
