Lorraine (Montague) Horvath, 89, of Madison, CT, passed away at Ocean Meadow Memory Care, Clinton, on Saturday, August 20, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends each day during the last weeks of her life. Lorraine was born in Tyngsborough, MA on July 14, 1933, to the late John and Rose (Joyce) Montague. She resided in Bridgeport from 1933 to 1964 and graduated from Central High School in 1951. Lorraine married her loving husband, Gus Horvath, on August 31, 1957, in Bridgeport, and was married just shy of 65 years. They have resided in Madison since 1964 where they raised their four children. Lorraine spent her final working years as a tax clerk at Madison Town Campus. When her children were young, Lorraine enjoyed cooking for them, cheering them on at sporting events, sharing time laughing, and making fun memories. In later years, Lorraine delighted in playing with the 9-holers at Madison Country Club and playing in Bridge groups. Lorraine leaves her beloved husband, Gus; her son, David Horvath and his wife Kathleen, their children Daniel, Leah, and Michael of Bethel, CT; her daughter, Cynthia (Horvath) Daley and her husband Michael, and their children, Kevin and Kate of Clinton, CT; her daughter Pamela (Horvath) Campbell and her husband Brad, and their son Jack of Suwanee, GA. Lorraine's grandchildren were the light of her life. They all have precious memories of "Grandma", especially the simple pleasures of hugging, laughing, and enjoying each other's company. Grandma was very proud of their accomplishments and the outstanding young adults they have become. Lorraine was preceded in death by her daughter Lynn (Horvath) Crowley, five sisters, two brothers, and one niece. No matter what, Lorraine walked out into the world every day with a smile on her face, a spring in her step, and a lovely smile and greeting for all who encountered her. Her sense of humor, beautiful aura, and shining presence will be sorely missed by her family, many friends, and community. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy Street, Madison. A Celebration of Life reception will follow in the church reception hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lorraine's memory to The Madison Foundation, Inc., P.O.
