Lori Ann Dempsey Jarrell, 58, of Mooresville, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
Lori was born on September 28, 1963, in Rome, Georgia to Jesse and Dorothy Fortenberry Dempsey. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority while attending University of West Georgia in Carrollton. Upon graduation, she was employed as an engineer for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Rome until her health required her to retire. She will be remembered as a kind and loving person. Lori made you feel as if you were the most important person in the room. Although Lori had faced many challenges during her life, she overcame each one with determination and belief that God was in control. Her legacy lives on in the better parts of all of us and the impact she made on everyone. Never meeting a stranger, she became an "adopted" mom to many of Taylor's friends and was loved by all who knew her. Lori loved her family and her focus was to always care for them. Flowers, gardening, and animals were passions of hers. In addition, Lori used her own experience with diabetes to teach and share her experience at a camp for children with diabetes.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 24 years Randall Jarrell of Mooresville and daughter Taylor DeNease Jarrell of Charlotte. In addition, she leaves behind cousins Ed Fortenberry, Ronnie Fortenberry, Pam Fortenberry, Kim Fortenberry and Joe Fortenberry of Rome, Georgia; Robert and Terri Jarrell of Richmond Hill, Georgia; two nieces; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
The family will hold a celebration of life service at a later date.
