Lori Diane Dixon Courtney was born May 8, 1963 to WC and Ginger Dixon. She was raised mostly in Odessa, TX apart from a few great adventures. She graduated from Permian H.S. in 1983 and continued her education at Odessa College. She left this earth on May 9 in a tragic accident with her brother Billy Dixon, whom we are all sure had his arm around her shoulders, as they both crossed the gates of Heaven to meet those who preceded them in death: her grandparents, their mother Ginger Dixon, and brothers: Jerry and Ricky Dixon.
Lori had a heart full of love, she was a friend to all she met. She was full of laughter, loved telling stories, pulling pranks, and was never far from her Dr. Pepper. Her passion in life was NASCAR, her hero was Dale Earnhardt Jr. and she NEVER missed a race on TV. She had no children of her own, but she made up for that with her fur babies: Scottie, Cynder, Harley and Misty. Her love for her fur babies was great, but nothing compared to the love she held for her family, especially her nieces and nephews - evident by the way they all argue over who was really her favorite. She leaves behind a big hole in many hearts, and a legacy of love: her father WC Dixon and step-mom Becky of Holly Lake Ranch, step-sister Chris Huff of San Angelo, TX, sister-in-law Pam Dixon of Las Cruces, NM, sister-in-law Janice Turner of Odessa, TX, 8 nieces and nephews: Michael and Chelsy of Las Cruces, Nikki, Sean, Candice, Christopher and Macayle of Odessa, Cody Dixon of Burnet, TX; 23 great-nieces and nephews; 1 great-great nephew; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that she loved as brothers and sisters rather than just friends.
A memorial service will be held for Lori and Billy on Saturday, May 21st at 1 pm at Faith Community Baptist Church, 9902 W. University Blvd, Odessa, TX. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the church in her name. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
