Lorenzo Zavala, 79 of Plainview, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at his residence. Viewing and Funeral Services will be held at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Viewing will be from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Funeral Service will be at 2:00pm, Friday, July 29, 2022, with Chaplin Gabe Moudy, officiating. Family arrangements are entrusted to the personal care of the Lemons Funeral Home.
Lorenzo was born on August 10, 1942, in Navasota, Texas to Willie and Josephine (Hernandez) Zavala, Sr. He married Irene Becerra, June of 1964 in Petersburg, Texas.
Lorenzo lived in various towns before settling in Plainview, Texas in 1974. Lorenzo was a hard worker. He worked at Panhandle Compress, West Texas Ind. / Hale County Compress and ADM Milling. He enjoyed watching all sports, but always rooting for Texas teams. He loved cookouts, spending time with and taking care of his family.
He is survived by three daughters: Debra and Wesley Beck of Plainview, Catherine Zavala and Anita Rodriguez of Tulia and Angelica and Cruz Campos of Plainview; five brothers: Willie and Elvira Zavala, Hector and Brenda Zavala, Joe and Nora Zavala, Daniel and Racheal Zavala, and Cruz and Elda Zavala; four sisters: Susie Sanchez, Rosie Zavala, Missy Zavala, and Margie and Matty Martinez; six grandchildren: Kennedy and Nathaniel Beck, Adrian, Jeremy and Shelby Zavala; ten great-grandchildren: Zachariah and Jasmen Zavala, Malackai, Mikayla and Breanna Mendez, T.J. and Zaiden Rodriguez and three great great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Zavala; one son, Lorenzo Zavala, Jr.; his parents, Willie, and Josephine Zavala; two brothers: Richard and David Zavala; three sisters: Lupe Martinez, Catherine, and Mary Lou Zavala.
